In this monochromatic still life, I wanted to focus purely on form, balance, and tonal harmony—without the distraction of color. The composition nods to classical still-life traditions while allowing the brushwork and value shifts to carry the emotion. The interplay between the smooth surface of the melon and the organic cluster of grapes brings quiet rhythm and contrast, echoing the timeless simplicity of everyday objects.

This study was also an exploration of light and texture, where the absence of color makes every shadow and highlight feel intentional, almost sculptural.
