This painting was inspired by a walk along Round Pond in Kensington Gardens in London's Hyde Park. An elderly woman feeding the birds drew a crowd of feathered friends. I was interested in the challenge of this painting, as colors at dusk are muted and distant tree greens and water blues meld together, enhancing what I sensed as loneliness as the woman searched for odd companionship on the darkening shore.
